Cabin Craving

We got home from the cabin and being surrounded by my family on Sunday afternoon.  My husband came to me Sunday night and the conversation went like this:

Will:  Boo?
Me: Yeah honey?
Will: I want to go back to the cabin...

My Winter Essentials

Ballet Tights:
These are a must have on the most blustery, frigid, unbearable days of winter.  Not too thin, but not too thick to wear under your jeans or leggings.  Through much guess and check I have found that leggings are too thick and bunchy to wear under those trendy skinny jeans that you already have to guard your nails while pulling on.  Nylons are simply worthless.  Ballet Tights are a little thicker and you can hook them over your feet so they don't end up bunched mid-calf.  Also, when I was going through my "I refuse to wear jeans" phase, I could still fit these under leggings and the ensemble proved to be quite warm.

Magic Gloves:
At the beginning of winter I stock up Magic gloves that you can get 2 for $1.50 or something ridiculous like that.  They aren't the warmest on below zero days if you have no coat pockets however, it doesn't matter if you lose them (which I always do) and you can leave a pair in every coat, car, purse, everywhere so your hands aren't completely fending for themselves.  Your hands will thank you for some protection when you can't find your one pair of stellar gloves.

The "Hit Me" Hat:
I still have yet to figure out why Will and his friends call these "Hit Me" hats.  The one time Will wore one I believe he got numerous slaps to the forehead.  I find it to be the cosiest hat made for man and I have already begun wearing mine everywhere I go.  I do get a few looks but I know those people are freezing in their too-cute-to-bundle hoodies(with no coat, mittens, or hat!)  I love my fellow Iowans but they take too long to break out the winter gear.  I've already begun wearing nearly 90% of my winter dunken.
